NSS is Gandhiji's scheme to channelize the youth energy for constructive action. National Service Scheme (NSS) is a platform where students can directly interact with society. MGMDCK NSS facilitates a space for the student to pursue real issues in our country. Students should have some obligations to the society or the nation to which they belong. It is also a process of learning when students visit a field or serve personally. So, NSS is that platform which facilitates opportunities to do for society, and at the same time they acquire diverse knowledge. There is the great role of the youth, particularly young-educated persons to the society and nation-building. They have huge potential and enthusiasm to dedicate themselves to reform and improvement. The real success of the learning is to apply gained knowledge, and NSS-MGMDCK symbolizes the same. MGMDCK-NSS contributes in diverse fields, especially by its academic excellence. Besides these, contributes in the field of upliftment of society. NSS-MGMDCK, consisting of a group of passionate students who sincerely want to work for society, especially for the needy people of the society. They have been working in the campus and outside. Students of MGMDCK are well known for their unique and innovative ideas.
There are some remarkable social service activities done by the unit. For instance, under Swachha Bharath Campaign Construction of Toilets, Making Plastic Free Villages, Health Checkup Camps, Slum Visit Programs, Books and Stationery distribution to the poor Students, rural health, national integration, rural development, AIDS awareness, blood donation, tree plantation and recently observed effective and successful workshop on Covid-19, Tree plantation program was one step forward to make the earth greener and sustainable. This may contribute towards not only betterment of human society but bio-diversity as well. N.S.S organizes annual camps in villages, where problems relating to water, health, electricity, sanitation etc are dealt with. Villagers are made aware of the welfare schemes of the Government. Through these camps the volunteers learn civic sense and responsibility. Annual Camps are organized regularly for the students
